The second time I went to this spot, I startled two young deer who ran down the trail in the painting. Maybe they left behind the two ticks that I found on me. 16″ x 20″ Oil on board
Painting this, an observer told me he was the last person to work on the dam. About twenty years ago, the operator of the dam got disgruntled and lodged 2 x 4s somehow to sabotage the dam and render it useless. People were canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming and hiking. More information here.

I’ve been more active updating the Carolina Adobe User Group website than I have been updating this site. It’s slowly growing, but there are lots of good development links over there now. Big plans for 2011.
